About Us

The Classical Association

We're the Teesside branch of the The Classical Association, a national organisation which promotes and supports the study of the ancient world:

"Founded in 1903, we have been dedicated to making classical subjects more widely accessible for over 120 years. We support everyone who has an interest in the ancient world – from the general public to academic specialists, and our members are based across the world."

-The Classical Association

The Teesside Branch

Founded in 2025, our goal is to establish a community of Classics and Ancient History enthusiasts in Teesside to:

  • Promote the Classics in our region through public and member events

  • Meet and engage with likeminded individuals

  • Organise lectures, field trips, readings, social events, etc.
